Internal Communications Manager (0688)

About the Role

The Internal Communications and Engagement Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance internal communication channels and foster a culture of engagement within our organization. The key objective is to ensure timely and accurate communications, that ensures colleagues are informed, motivated, and connected to our organization's goals, purpose, and values. The role is one of networking, prioritizing, and influencing, involving multi-tasking in a high profile, high pressure, and rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

Communicates Effectively

·         Maintain internal communication platform (ONE) including the refining and posting of Company news, policies, procedures, maintenance of platform user accounts, email distribution lists, and digital signage.

·         Drive and promote effective communication throughout the Group, monitoring outputs on a regular basis.

·         Manage materials including noticeboards, calendars, and posters as required.

·         Support various communication/ Company projects as assigned.

Drives Engagement

·         Support Company Diversity and Inclusion initiatives through meaningful and educational communications.

·         Drive Company culture by highlighting Watches of Switzerland Group Purpose and Values in communications.

·         Deliver colleague engagement activities throughout the year including maintaining engagement of Workplace for the United States, the WOS Group’s internal social engagement platform.

·         Develop and foster trusted relationships, providing communications support and guidance to all areas of the business including Directors, Managers, Retail Managers, and Support Office.

Business Insight

·         Support an effective Company Communication Strategy, which supports and drives other key business strategies.

·         Identifies and analyzes business and audience needs to deliver messages across a variety of channels.

·         Compile and provide analytics related to internal communications to Leadership Team and key stakeholders.

Manages Complexity

·         In conjunction with the UK Internal Communications team, maintain day-to-day activities on Workplace including approving posts, moderating content, adding/removing users.

·         Review and revise communications from departments to ensure proper grammar, spelling, consistency and effective communication to colleagues ahead of go live.

·         Gather feedback from employees to assess the effectiveness of communication strategies.

Action Oriented

·         Develop and execute comprehensive internal communication plans aligned with organizational objectives.

·         Create engaging and informative content for internal newsletters, emails, intranet, and other communication channels.

·         Support day-to-day internal communications, through creation and distribution of announcements, business insights, and launch campaigns.

·         Implement programs and activities to boost employee engagement and morale.

 

 

 

Essential Qualifications and Experience

·         Bachelor’s degree in communications, Marketing, Business or related field.

·         2+ years of experience in internal communications or related, retail environment preferred.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail and high quality of work.

·         Proficiency in using communication tools and intranet platforms.

·         Basic understanding of the components of common web technology (HTML, CSS)

·         High level of comfort with social software and other web-based technologies.

·         Understands and can apply communication ADKAR Methodology, metrics, and analytics.

·         Ability to adapt writing style for a variety of platforms and channels, including web and video; leverages visual tools, e.g. infographics and images, to accompany content.

·         Extensive knowledge of MS Office Suite (PPT, Word, Excel, SharePoint) with ability to quickly learn other applications, as necessary.

 

·         Strong curiosity, learning capacity and independent decision making.

·         Works well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

·         The ability to write engaging written communication while also being confident in networking and influencing colleagues from across our Retail and Support offices.

·         Being organized and having the ability to successfully obtain information from several sources will be key in providing effective support for key campaigns and projects throughout the business.

·         This Communications Manager role is extremely varied and requires the successful candidate to be adaptable and resilient, while also being able to juggle several responsibilities on a day-to-day basis.

·         An approachable and positive person, you’ll possess the ability to work with teams across a number of departments to reach agreed outcomes and deadlines, while also being comfortable working and managing project alone.
