Lead iOS Engineer - Hodinkee

As Lead iOS Engineer, you will ensure our iOS application reflects Hodinkee’s craftsmanship, clarity, and performance standards while executing the product vision provided by leadership.

Role Overview
We are seeking a Lead iOS Engineer to lead the technical implementation of the Hodinkee iOS app. This role requires architectural maturity, hands-on development skill, and strong cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
● Lead the technical direction of the iOS application to deliver on the defined product roadmap.
● Architect modular SwiftUI/UIKit systems with scalable patterns (MVVM, VIPER, or similar).
● Implement modern concurrency approaches using async/await, GCD, and/or Combine.
● Integrate cleanly with REST/GraphQL APIs and support offline-ready data flows.
● Maintain robust automated test suites including XCTest, snapshot, and UI tests.
● Optimize layout, animations, memory usage, and app performance.
● Mentor engineers and guide code quality and architectural consistency.
● Collaborate across teams to deliver cohesive and premium user experiences.

Required Qualifications
● 7+ years of iOS development experience.
● Advanced Swift skills with expertise in SwiftUI and UIKit interoperability.
● Strong understanding of modular architectures, memory management, and performance tuning.
● Experience working with concurrency frameworks and reactive patterns.
● Proven technical leadership and team mentorship abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with animations, feature flags, widgets, watchOS, or App Clips.
● Knowledge of secure storage, encryption, and advanced testing strategies.
