Role Overview
We are seeking a Lead Android Engineer to guide the technical execution of the Hodinkee Android app. This role balances hands-on engineering with architectural decision-making, ensuring scalable systems and high-quality user experiences.

Responsibilities
● Lead the technical direction of the Android application to execute the defined product and feature roadmap.
● Architect systems using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android development principles.
● Maintain scalable modular architectures including MVVM/MVI and Clean Architecture patterns.
● Optimize app performance, startup time, memory usage, and rendering efficiency.
● Integrate cleanly with REST/GraphQL services and backend systems.
● Build and maintain automated unit, integration, and UI test suites.
● Mentor Android engineers and help establish excellent engineering culture.
● Collaborate with iOS, Backend, Product, Design, and QA teams for cohesive execution.

Required Qualifications
● 7+ years of Android development experience.
● Expert proficiency in Kotlin and Jetpack libraries including Compose.
● Strong understanding of Coroutines, Flow, dependency injection (Hilt/Dagger), and architectural best practices.
● Experience maintaining scalable, modularized Android applications.
● Strong communication skills and ability to lead technical initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications
● Experience with analytics instrumentation, feature flags, and A/B testing.
● Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform Mobile (KMM).
● Experience with mobile security best practices including encryption

Salary: $150,000-$170,000 per year
