Editorial Administrator (1262)
Job Objective
Hodinkee is looking for an Editorial Admin to support the editorial team across publishing, scheduling, and social media operations. This is a new role focused primarily on preparing and scheduling stories within our custom content management system (CMS), helping ensure editorial content is accurate, polished, and published on time.This person will also assist with the day-to-day management of Hodinkee’s Instagram account (1.1M followers).The ideal candidate is highly organized and detail-oriented, and excited to work in a collaborative, very fast-paced newsroom environment.
This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimun of 3 days in-office per week
Responsibilities
- Prepare and publish editorial content by formatting, proofreading, and uploading articles in Hodinkee’s CMS to ensure accuracy and consistency across all published stories.
- Manage the editorial publishing calendar, scheduling content to go live on time and coordinating with writers and editors to meet deadlines.
- Support quality control efforts by reviewing articles for grammar, formatting, links, and visual elements before publication.
- Assist with Instagram account operations, including scheduling posts, uploading content, writing captions, and monitoring engagement for a 1.1M follower audience.
- Coordinate daily workflow across the editorial team, ensuring smooth communication between writers, editors, and social media stakeholders.
- Edit and optimize visual assets using basic Photoshop or Lightroom skills to ensure images meet brand and publishing standards.
- Maintain and organize digital content systems, keeping archives, metadata, and publishing tools up to date to support efficient newsroom operations.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience managing digital content within CMS platforms, preferably in a fast-paced, newsroom-style environment
- Proven experience coordinating editorial calendars, publishing workflows, and cross-functional content operations
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to proofread and edit content accurately
- Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring high-quality, error-free publishing standards
- Strong interest in watch culture and willingness to continuously expand industry knowledge
- Ability to thrive in high-volume, fast-paced editorial environments while meeting tight deadlines
- Proficiency in basic photo editing using Adobe Photoshop and/or Lightroom
- Highly efficient multitasker with the ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy
Salary: $70,000-$80,000 yearly
