Vintage Timepiece Specialist (0635)

Job Objective

The Vintage Timepiece Professional takes a key role in all aspects of operations at the Analog:Shift HQ and boutique in New York City. They provide meaningful support to the departmental Sales Manager in all aspects of sales operations within the showroom network and for eCommerce. They are an expert on all elements of the inventory workflow, ensuring the smooth running of operations to enable prompt turnaround for eCommerce listing for all incoming products. This individual must display excellent writing, editing, and content creation proficiencies as well as client service and sales skills to deliver an exceptional client experience at our boutique, in liasing with showroom teams, and on eCommerce platforms. The Vintage Timepiece Specialist will work with internal and external clients by supporting all sales endeavors and must possess a deep knowledge of the products offered within the department. The Vintage Timepiece Professional will also partner in the acquisition of inventory from private sellers, vendors, and organizational departments at the WOS Group.  The Vintage Timepiece Specialist, reporting the Sales Manager of Vintage & Preowned Timepieces, will support training within the department and wider WOS Group organization.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support all in-person sales operations within the Analog:Shift HQ boutique in New York City, including but not limited to identifying and developing sales opportunities, client hosting, and providing excellence in client experience for existing clients, referrals, and new leads.
  • Build, maintain, and develop clientele through use of company CRM platform focusing on relationship building.
  • Continually capitalize on networking opportunities and proactive outreach to foster strong, lasting connections with existing and potential clients, implement clienteling techniques to personalize service and meet client needs.
  • Assist with all aspects of eCommerce listings, including but not limited to writing and editing product descriptions, formatting listings, and pushing product live.
  • Support all aspects of inventory purchase and trade-in from individual sellers, in-showroom clients and established vendors per management guidelines.
  • Support the development of creative videos, photography, and print materials for external clients and internal stakeholders, including being featured in photos or videos.
  • Develop and maintain product knowledge on the brands, collections, and pieces carried in the showroom as well as general industry knowledge.
  • Confidently present product to clients incorporating storytelling and technical detail while creating a hospitable atmosphere.
  • Effectively communicate with both internal and external clients to help drive the business.
  • Update sales appointments into company calendar.
  • Partner with Creative to support process workflow for new product photography.
  • Administratively support pricing updates online and in-showroom ticketing.
  • Answering inbound phone calls and replying to all inbound sales inquiries.
  • Partner with the Sales Manager to identify and execute event opportunities for partner showroom teams to drive client engagement and brand recognition.
  • Function as host for company events as needed.
  • Support strategic partnerships with partner showrooms to aid brand growth in their respective markets.
  • In accordance with company guidelines and practices, support all aspects of hospitality within the office and showroom and maintain excellence in Xenia initiatives.
  • Act as a role model for company’s “floor-ready” expectations in terms of dress code; behave as a brand ambassador to all audiences
  • Set an example through client interactions and ensure a welcoming environment
  • Support brand image by ensuring all displays and visual areas are in keeping with visual direction throughout the day.
  • Support, promote and assume responsibility for loss prevention in all areas of risk management, physical security, showroom cash controls, inventory management.
  • Assist in the management controllable expenses.
  • Support after-sale procedures to ensure it is maintained at all times.
  • Maintain thorough understanding of all policies, procedures and processes.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

 

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • Function as a role model and trainer for all departmental staff and partner showroom stakeholders

 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and stand/walk for extended hours
  • Ability to work retail showroom hours as necessary, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability and willingness to travel as necessary

 

Knowledge and Skills Required

Education

  • High School Degree/College Degree.

 

Experience / Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of Vintage and Pre-Owned Timepieces
  • Previous experience in sales or marketing in luxury retail or equivalent

Proven experience in crafting product descriptions or product related online editorials

Skills

  • Strong Analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel.
  • Proficient in utilizing CRM systems.
  • Understanding of process efficiencies, procedure compliance and an eagerness to gain skills to pass on for training and education are essential.
  • A working knowledge of social media is essential, as is a willingness to take an outward facing role in content creation to support all elements of branding and sales.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
